Our goal is to provide martial arts instruction for young children (ages 5 - 7) to give them additional lifelong skills including our core values of Respect, Discipline, and Courage.
All of our lessons are structured around a warm-up period and a skills period.
Martial arts are based on core values that dominate the practices. A cornerstone of most martial arts involves learning to respect yourself and those around you.
At Terrier BJJ respect is one of the core tenets that all students must perform both on and off the mats.
Discipline is an important factor in a child's confidence. In order to be confident, a child must know that being self-disciplined is the key to success. At the same time, success breeds confidence.
All three work together to give children a boost in self-esteem.
Courage refers to doing something even though it is "outside of your comfort zone". In martial arts, gaining courage starts from the first time you step foot onto the mats.
Once you have taken that first step and begun training, your courage will only evolve from there.
